What you won't find here:

You won't find any music covered by copyright except if I have obtained explicit permission, and that ban includes just about any musical, Broadway show, movie, or TV theme music. If it isn't more than a hundred years old - it's probably covered by copyright, and it won't be here. Don't even bother asking me for a copy of the music. It's probably available at your local music store, and you'll have to fork over the money. It's how composers (and publishers) stay alive!

If you find sheet music for just about any of the types of music listed above on other sites and download it, even for your own personal use: you are breaking the law. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts. Just like copying commercial software from a "friend" - it's illegal, even if you think it's overpriced.

This site tries to support composers, and some have graciously agreed to let some of their music appear here even though it's under copyright. Please read the notices they may have placed within their sections; there are some limitations attached to the performances if they're public.

I'm trying to build up a small library of printable clarinet music on-line. Most of the selections I have here are in two basic formats:

1. MIDI - to play on your computer or synth
2. .ps or .pdf - these allow you to print the music

N.B. - all files have been compressed using Zip (.zip extension).

or any other of your favorite archive locations. It's pretty easy to find one (look for the keyword "unzip"). The resulting files (after unzipping) are:

• .mid files - Type 1 MIDI files
• .mus and .etf files - PC Finale files (in their original versions)
• .pdf - Adobe PDF portable files. You will need Version 4.0 or greater of the Adobe ® Acrobat ® reader to view and print these. The reader is available for free from Adobe. You must download and install this software on your own computer if it isn't there already - please follow the supplied link to obtain the software.
• .ps - PostScript files ready for printing on a PostScript printer

• A mirror of Oliver Seely's site - Oliver has done extensive work in creating MIDI and MUS files for clarinetists (no password needed)
• A mirror of Steve Silverbergs's MIDI site - Steve has done a lot of work sequencing many accompaniments for famous clarinet works (no password needed)
• Work from Franck Laloe - Franck is also doing some extensive work in creating and publishing MIDI and MUS files of clarinet works (no password needed)
• Original Works of Charles Griffin - Charles' works are available in .etf and .eps (Encapsulated PostScript) versions for your personal enjoyment. He retains copyright - please contact him for public performances (no password needed)
• Brasilian works - provided by Fernando Silveira, Principal Clarinet, National Symphony, Brazil. (no password needed)
• Work from Nathaniel Johnson - an arrangement of the J.S. Bach Concerto for Two Violins (no password needed)
• Work from David Blumberg - a number of pieces arranged for clarinet in MIDI format. (no password needed)
• Work from Jimmy Sclater - Original compositions from Jimmy Sclater. Jimmy has provided me with the first page or so of his compositions. Contact information for the pieces is on his page. (no password needed)
• Work from Wendy Mae Chambers - Original compositions from Wendy Mae Chambers. These are large GIF file copies of her manuscript. (no password needed)

• Karl Krelove's transpositions - some A -> Bb transpositions
